About the Authors

Dale Grover designs hardware and software at Red Cedar Electronics. A somewhat practical person who prefers to solder, program, or machine things. Author of articles in IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, Midnight Engineering, and Communication Outlook on such topics as microprocessor programming, rehabilitative engineering, and digital signal processing.

Jack Deller is a professor in the Electrical Engineering Department of Michigan State University, a fellow of the IEEE, and lead author of the book Discrete-Time Processing of Speech Signals and two upcoming speech processing books. His excitement over abstract theoretical mathematical signal processing stuff is matched only by his complete lack of interest in anything fun like building something. (It might be obvious who gets to write this stuff.)
